Features: Early on, my wife and I squeezed out through the chaos, giving Comrade Liu immense comfort. My wife is meticulous and found medicine and bandages to dress Comrade Liu's wounds. But Comrade Liu didn’t need them, as her wife had already brought out a more complete home first-aid kit and was carefully cleaning her husband’s wounds, insisting he take some high-end anti-inflammatory medicine to prevent infection. Taking advantage of the moment, everyone rushed into Comrade Liu’s home. In daily life, none of them had the chance or courage to enter Comrade Liu’s mysterious home, and this was a grand opportunity. Due to the special circumstances, people were spared the trouble of removing their shoes, adding a sense of privilege. The spotless embroidered cushion and the bright, polished waxed floor left everyone murmuring in admiration. Such exquisite and tidy furniture arrangements suddenly transformed everyone’s mood, making them forget the terrifying scene they had just witnessed. Some even enthusiastically discussed whether the colors of the wardrobe and the floor were harmonious. But soon, they remembered their responsibilities and unanimously cursed Zhang Yongwu, perhaps even more fervently in Comrade Liu’s home. Comrade Liu, like a child, leaned against his wife, letting her gentle fingers stroke his wound. Yet, his mouth never stopped: “Everyone saw it—I didn’t fight back or curse back. I maintained my composure and spoke rationally from start to finish.” I was surprised to find that only two people didn’t curse Zhang Yongwu: Comrade Liu’s wife, Ya Wen, and his daughter, Liu Mei. At that moment, all their grief was focused on Comrade Liu’s wound, and their silently resentful expressions made you feel that they were indeed well-mannered, while Zhang Yongwu truly deserved to die! After everyone vented their anger at Comrade Liu for a while, they gradually dispersed. At this point, Liu Mei quietly tugged my sleeve and asked me to come to her small bedroom. I thought she had something more serious to tell me, so I grew solemn and serious. But unexpectedly, Liu Mei took out a gold-red certificate and told me shyly yet excitedly, “Uncle, the article you helped me revise won first prize!” I was somewhat stunned. The neighboring room still faintly smelled of alcohol and medicine, and I could still hear Comrade Liu’s resentful groans, yet his daughter was overjoyed at the award. It seemed that resentment was hard to pass on. P13
