Features: Since the publication of A Course in Western Sociological Theory in 2001, it has received the attention and support of many sociological colleagues. Many sociology and social work departments in universities have been using this textbook. Through several years of teaching practice, we found that there were numerous errors and issues in the textbook. To promptly correct these errors and problems, at the end of 2004, under the initiative of the book's editor-in-chief, Nankai University Press organized authors from various schools to discuss the revision of A Course in Western Sociological Theory at Nankai University. The meeting carefully studied and analyzed the errors and issues in the textbook and discussed solutions. The guiding principle for this revision is to maintain the original content system while striving for more scientific selection, clearer logic, more accurate content, and more accessible language. It can be said that after the revision, A Course in Western Sociological Theory has undergone significant changes and improvements in both the introduction of Western sociological theory systems and the presentation of specific content, making it more suitable and capable of meeting the needs of Western sociological theory teaching.
