(1) Environmental Toxins
Under normal circumstances, the surrounding environment people live in should be fresh air, naturally clean food, quiet and comfortable living spaces, achieving a state of mental clarity and tranquility, thereby nurturing one's health naturally. However, in modern society, with economic development, various wastes from industrial production and pesticides used in agricultural production have caused "poisoning" in the air, water, soil, and even various crops and livestock products. The electrification of society has led to a rapid increase in noise, radiation, and automotive exhaust. The unreasonable utilization of natural resources has severely deteriorated the ecological environment, with sandstorms, acid rain, the greenhouse effect, and global warming all making human living environments increasingly worse. Now, with more and more people using mobile phones, many experience inexplicable dizziness, which is related to mobile phone radiation—a foreign toxin. In my clinical work, I have found that there are more and more patients with pharyngitis, tracheitis, and asthma, especially pharyngitis, where almost everyone has varying degrees of a dry, itchy, or uncomfortable throat, often clearing their throat frequently, all of which are related to the worsening air pollution.
1. Environmental Toxins Should Not Be Taken Lightly
Why are there more toxins now? This is mainly related to environmental changes. The natural and social environments we rely on for survival contain environmental toxins. The internal space of the human body is called the internal environment, while the external space people live in is called the external environment, including the natural and social environments. Environmental pollution refers to situations where harmful substances, due to natural or human factors, are discharged into the natural environment, causing changes in the composition or state of the environment, disrupting and damaging ecosystems, affecting normal living conditions, and potentially causing direct, indirect, or latent harm to people or organisms. Substances that enter the environment and cause environmental pollution are called environmental pollutants. Given that the harm to health caused by environmental pollution is becoming increasingly severe, even leading to diseases, we use the concept of environmental toxins to describe it. Environmental toxins refer to the total of various abnormal factors in the environment that are harmful to human health, even causing multiple diseases, including all current environmental pollutants.
