Features: The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is a standardized test established by the Japan Foundation and the Japan Educational Exchanges and Services. It assesses proficiency in three areas: vocabulary, reading comprehension, grammar, and listening. Since vocabulary is the foundation of language, it is self-evident that mastering Japanese vocabulary plays a crucial role in the JLPT. This book is based on over 10,000 vocabulary items outlined in the "JLPT Test Content Specifications" set by Japan, combined with the authors' extensive teaching experience and the needs of Chinese learners of Japanese. Each word is accompanied by necessary annotations, and many frequently used words are illustrated with example sentences. In terms of organization, the book is designed for ease of use:
(1) Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, 4) are used before each word to indicate the test level requirements. Additionally, for the purpose of preparing for China's Master's entrance exams, candidates should also master vocabulary items that are not marked with level requirements, as specified in the 2001 revised exam syllabus issued by China's Ministry of Education.
(2) In the appendix, tables are provided in the following formats:
① A "List of Common Japanese Colloquial Expressions," with concise "usage examples" explained;
② A "List of Common Japanese Kanji," including comparisons with Chinese characters and pronunciations.
Regarding the vocabulary and the colloquial expressions and kanji in the appendix, Level 1 candidates should also master the requirements of Levels 2, 3, and 4, and similarly, Level 2 and Level 3 candidates should master the requirements of the lower levels.
