It delves into behavioral and mental details, presenting workplace etiquette tips in an engaging manner through light text and exquisite images, helping readers navigate the path to workplace happiness. How can one win an interview with ability but lack quality? Quality represents potential, while ability is very practical. Employers need to assess candidates' abilities during interviews, mainly in the following aspects:
First, professional skills or special expertise. This is the core competitiveness of candidates. It benefits fresh graduates, those seeking re-employment, and laid-off workers. Because university students often master new knowledge points and have systematically studied relevant theories, their theoretical and systematic knowledge is prominent. For re-employed candidates, employers focus on performance. Because performance can best represent their theoretical and professional levels. For laid-off workers, their theoretical knowledge may not be as high, but their practical experience and skills are quite rich. If someone has certifications or abilities like an eight-level carpenter, eight-level machinist, or eight-level fitter, they can undoubtedly find a job with a salary much higher than that of a civil servant.
Second, potential career abilities. Potential career abilities refer to untapped potential in work that people may have. This potential is demonstrated through candidates' outstanding achievements in non-mainstream areas. For example, Candidate A graduated from a general university with a bachelor's degree and later enrolled in a master's program, planning to pursue a Ph.D. During a conversation with a mentor, the mentor discovered that the candidate had a high intellectual level. They had won a provincial championship in chess, another in bridge (bridge) and advanced to the national finals, and were also quite skilled in go (weiqi). This shows that the person is very intelligent but has not yet found the right application. Thus, the mentor broke the rules and admitted the candidate for research. Of course, the results also proved that the mentor's choice was correct.
Third, the ability to reasonably utilize one's own strengths. This ability represents whether a person can find their place in society and seize opportunities in time, combining with the above professional skills, expertise, and potential to form a process that allows talent to stand out. This ability includes two aspects: First, finding what one is truly good at, playing to strengths and avoiding weaknesses, and maximizing one's advantages; second, recognizing opportunities and bravely and honestly promoting oneself. The former is something many people understand but find difficult to grasp. Because a person often has multiple talents, like Chairman Mao Zedong, who excelled as a poet, military strategist, and revolutionary leader in ways that ordinary people could not match. Therefore, which strength to showcase depends on the opportunity. This is determined by the latter, which determines what you believe is your greatest opportunity. Learn the spirit of bravely promoting oneself like Mao Su. Believe firmly that if you believe in your own ability, others will believe in you.
