What factors lead to prostatic cysts

Patient's question:

I got married last year, and recently I've been feeling weak in my sexual performance. Additionally, I've noticed that my urine is cloudy when I go to the bathroom, and there's a slight burning sensation at the urethral opening. After examination, it was said that it might be prostatitis. I'm really worried because I haven't had children yet. Could you please tell me: what factors can lead to a prostatic cyst?

Doctor's answer:

Prostate cysts in males are caused by the following factors:
(1) True prostate cysts: Due to abnormalities in the embryonic development of the prostate gland, leading to narrowed prostatic ducts, blockage occurs, and the gradual accumulation of content forms a cyst, hence it is known as a retention-type prostate cyst.
(2) Inflammatory cysts: Caused by chronic inflammation of the prostate, leading to fibrosis of connective tissue, which narrows the prostatic ducts and results in the retention of secretions forming a cyst.
(3) Parasitic cysts: Caused by parasites, such as echinococcosis, which can induce chronic inflammation in the prostate ducts and surrounding tissues, or by granulomatous fibrosis, gradually forming a cyst.
(4) Congenital cysts: Result from abnormal development of the mesonephric duct and paramesonephric duct, with partial dilation of the lumen forming a cyst.
