Features: The academic community in China has long been focused on the Yangtze River Delta, yielding extensive research outcomes that are truly vast. However, the development of research from the perspective of urban agglomerations primarily began after the 1980s, and significant achievements have been made, especially in the study of urban agglomerations themselves. However, as Dr. Pei Zhen points out: these studies have explored the coordinated development of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration from different angles and levels. Everyone recognizes that the further development of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration requires cooperation, coordination, and integrated development among its cities. However, relatively little research has been conducted on the foundation of this coordinated development, the models, methods, and approaches for industrial integration, as well as the overall goals of industrial integration. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the economic mechanisms of urban agglomeration coordination from the perspective of industrial division and integration. Based on this judgment, Dr. Pei Zhen's manuscript Industrial Division and Integration in the Yangtze River Delta, grounded in comprehensive literature review and theoretical analysis, conducts an in-depth and meticulous study of the division and integration of industrial development in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration. By examining the division of world-renowned urban agglomerations and conducting empirical and comparative analyses of the formation, development, and current state of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, the author concludes that the rational division between central cities and surrounding cities is the core of enhancing the competitiveness of urban agglomerations. Furthermore, it is pointed out that the key to promoting the sustainable development of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration lies in the rational division and industrial integration between the central city of Shanghai and its surrounding cities. Based on this theoretical perspective, the author conducts an in-depth analysis of the current industrial development status of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, examines the division between Shanghai as the central city and its surrounding cities, and proposes ideas for industrial integration in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration.
