Foreign Legal History (Third Edition)

Author: He Qinhua
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2003-01-01
Features: Since its first edition in 1997, this book has been adopted by over 50 law schools across the country as a textbook for undergraduate and graduate courses on the history of foreign legal systems. It has been reprinted multiple times, with a total print run reaching over 80,000 copies. These facts demonstrate that the book, as a foundational textbook for law, has gained recognition from both teachers and students, and its writing principles of "academic rigor, systematic structure, and general applicability" have been effectively implemented. The authors are deeply gratified by this. However, during the process of using this textbook, we have also identified some shortcomings. For example, some chapters contain relatively simple content; some chapters have omissions; and some chapters are overly complex and disorganized, requiring refinement. To address these issues, we have conducted a relatively thorough revision of the entire book. We hope that the second edition of this book will be more perfect and better suited to the teaching needs of law schools for undergraduate and graduate courses on the history of foreign legal systems. During the revision process, we have incorporated the latest research findings in the field of the history of foreign legal systems from recent years, as well as the experiences and insights of the authors in teaching this subject over the past few years. We strive to make the book more balanced in terms of innovation and continuity, richness and conciseness, and academic rigor and general applicability.
