Patient's question:
For the first half of the month, there was itching in the vagina, and later, the discharge became like cottage cheese, very dirty.Doctor's answer:
Your condition may be a case of candidal vulvovaginitis. Patients with candidal vulvovaginitis often experience increased vaginal discharge, itching and burning sensation in the external genitalia and vagina, painful urination, and redness and swelling around the external genitalia. The skin changes can vary widely; they may develop as superficial blister-like papules in clusters, or form eczema-like erosions that are confined to the external genitalia or extend to the perineum, around the anus, and into the groin folds, resembling acute or subacute eczema in appearance. The labia and the area near the clitoris may show thickened mucosa, with redness and erosion on the skin surfaces that are in contact with each other. In some cases, small white pustules may develop, and in severe cases, ulcers, pain in the external genitalia, and local lymph node enlargement may occur. A solution of sodium bicarbonate can be used for external washing, which may be effective to some extent.
