How to Cure Candida Vaginitis

Patient's question:

Vaginal candidiasis that does not heal with treatment and recurs repeatedly

Doctor's answer:

Currently, the medications used clinically to treat fungal vulvovaginitis and vaginitis are mostly imidazole drugs, which have excellent antifungal effects. Therefore, after oral and topical treatment, symptoms will improve or disappear quickly. However, this does not mean that fungal vulvovaginitis has been cured—it only means that the yeast has been temporarily suppressed. Patients must not stop taking the medication at this point and should follow the doctor's advice to complete the treatment course (medication can be paused during the menstrual period). After the menstrual period ends, they should undergo a gynecological examination and a microscopic examination of vaginal secretions. If the results are negative, it is considered recent recovery. If necessary, further treatment will be continued. Only when both gynecological examinations and microscopic examinations of vaginal secretions are normal for three consecutive months can it be considered fully cured.
