Features: Organized by the Teaching Materials Office of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, this 96th edition textbook for mechanical engineering has played a significant role in meeting the teaching needs of secondary vocational and technical schools and related vocational training, receiving widespread praise from teachers and students. However, with the deepening of reform and opening-up and the rapid development of the socialist market economy, society and enterprises have put forward updated and higher requirements for the knowledge and skill structure of skilled talents, and the concepts and models of vocational education have also been continuously reformed and innovated. To adapt to the needs of cultivating skilled talents in the 21st century and to meet the teaching requirements of mechanical engineering in secondary vocational and technical schools across the country, we have organized experts to comprehensively revise the 96th edition of the mechanical engineering textbooks. The revised textbooks include: Machine Tool Technology (4th Edition), Machine Tool Skill Training (4th Edition), Fitter Technology (4th Edition), Fitter Skill Training (4th Edition), Machine Repair Fitter Technology (2nd Edition), Machine Repair Fitter Skill Training (2nd Edition), Milling Machine Technology (3rd Edition), Milling Machine Skill Training (3rd Edition), Welding Technology (3rd Edition), Welding Skill Training (3rd Edition), Electric Welding Technology (2nd Edition), Electric Welding Skill Training (2nd Edition), Cold Working Technology (3rd Edition), Cold Working Skill Training (3rd Edition).
During the writing process of this series of textbooks, we have consistently adhered to the following principles: guided by student employment and based on enterprise employment standards. In terms of professional knowledge arrangement, we closely align with the characteristics of the training objectives, adhering to the principles of sufficiency and practicality, discarding theoretical knowledge that is "complex, difficult, biased, and outdated," while further strengthening the intensity of skill training, especially focusing on basic and core skills. Considering the conditions of schools in various regions, we strive to reflect the current status and trends of the mechanical industry, introducing as many new technologies, processes, methods, and materials as possible to make the textbooks more contemporary. At the same time, we adopt the latest national technical standards to make the textbooks more scientific and standardized.
Following the cognitive patterns of students in secondary vocational and technical schools, we strive to make the teaching content enjoyable and accessible for students. In terms of structure and expression, we emphasize a gradual progression from simple to complex, step-by-step learning, and highlight teacher-student interaction and student autonomy. Through numerous case studies and visually rich presentations, students can learn more easily. To facilitate teaching, the technology textbooks are accompanied by exercise books and answer keys, teaching reference books, and some teaching reference books also include multimedia teaching materials for mechanical education (CDs).
The writing of this series of textbooks has been supported and assisted by the Labor and Social Security Departments of Beijing, Shandong, Henan, Shaanxi, Liaoning, Hunan, Fujian, and Sichuan provinces, as well as relevant schools. We express our heartfelt gratitude to them.
The main contents of Fitter Technology (4th Edition) include: fundamentals of metal cutting, common measuring tools for fitters, basic operation knowledge for fitters, common equipment and tools for fitters, fundamentals of assembly, assembly of fixed connections, assembly of transmission mechanisms, assembly of bearings and shaft sets, assembly of horizontal lathe and its general assembly, lubrication, sealing, and leakproofing of mechanical devices, drilling machine fixtures, CNC machine tools and their assembly.
Fitter Technology (4th Edition) is edited by Jiang Bo, with contributions from Jiang Jingchao, Sun Dawei, Ma Jianhong, Wang Wenxian, Cui Zhaohua, and Wang Xibo. It is reviewed by Lin Rongsheng and Lu Lemin, with Lin Rongsheng as the chief reviewer.
