Features: "Fundamentals of Mechanical Design" is a core course for electromechanical engineering majors in higher vocational and technical education. To meet the needs of economic construction and social development, and to reflect modern technological advancements, this book emphasizes the comprehensive development of students' qualities and the cultivation of innovative awareness. It actively promotes teaching reform and curriculum updates, explores diverse teaching methods, and has been written accordingly. The content of the book is divided into five parts:
Part 1: "Composition of Mechanisms and Introduction to Mechanical Design" primarily covers the composition of plane mechanisms, an introduction to mechanical design, and an overview of modern design methods, providing fundamental knowledge for mechanical design.
Part 2: "Common Mechanisms" focuses on the working principles, applications, and design methods of common mechanisms (e.g., link mechanisms, cam mechanisms, gear trains, intermittent motion mechanisms, screw mechanisms, and composite mechanisms).
Part 3: "Mechanical Drives" discusses common mechanical drives (e.g., belt drives, chain drives, gear drives, and worm drives) from the perspective of power transmission, covering their working principles, standard specifications, and practical calculation methods.
Part 4: "Axial Components" primarily explains the working principles, assembly design, and selection methods of axial components (including sliding bearings, rolling bearings, shafts, couplings, clutches, and brakes).
Part 5: "Connections and Springs" introduces the working principles, standard specifications, and calculation methods of common connections and springs.
Practical exercises with strong applicability are provided at the end of each chapter. Additionally, the book includes examples of cam profile and gear drive CAD program design at the end for reference in comprehensive training.
This book can serve as a textbook for "Fundamentals of Mechanical Design" courses in electromechanical engineering for higher vocational and technical education, as well as a reference for readers of related courses and engineering professionals.
