Features: Superficial organs and tissues have shallow locations, making them easy to observe and palpate, but it is difficult to determine their nature. Imaging diagnosis often relies on magnetic resonance imaging, which is not convenient for small and medium-sized hospitals. Ultrasound diagnosis has become highly prevalent. Due to the high-resolution capability of high-frequency ultrasound in imaging superficial organs and tissues, as well as its clear images, ultrasound examination has significantly improved the diagnostic accuracy for such lesions. Patients treated in grassroots hospitals can also receive timely examination and diagnosis. The diseases of superficial organs and tissues have a wide range, including both common and rare conditions, which are frequently encountered in daily clinical ultrasound examinations. This book focuses on practicality, covering diseases of the eye, salivary glands, thyroid, neck and face, breast, and male reproductive organs, as well as some superficial lymph nodes, subcutaneous, and soft tissue lesions. The foundational section highlights the anatomical structure of organs, ultrasound examination methods, and the diagnostic scope of superficial organ diseases using ultrasound. The disease diagnosis section briefly describes the clinical manifestations, gross pathological features, and ultrasound findings of superficial organ and tissue diseases. The case report section presents practical examples of superficial organ and tissue lesions obtained from the ultrasound diagnostic practices of seven physicians over the years. Most reported cases include surgical and pathological diagnoses. There are 192 reported cases with 605 accompanying images. Most cases consist of serial ultrasound images, covering multiple organs and various diseases, making the content very rich.
