Features: The series textbook "Basic Business Chinese—Conversation and Application" is designed for learners with intermediate Chinese proficiency or higher. It is suitable for native English speakers who primarily communicate in English and are interested in conducting business activities in China and the Chinese community. This textbook helps improve communicative competence in business Chinese. For the convenience of instructors, the textbook is divided into two volumes, each containing a textbook and a comprehensive exercise book. Based on common course arrangements in international universities, each volume is generally suitable for one semester. Each lesson in the textbook includes two dialogues, relevant sentence patterns, annotations, substitution exercises, and comparative studies of Chinese and foreign business cultures in a diary format, along with simple economic and trade information. To expand learners' vocabulary and facilitate reference, each lesson also provides a categorized, chart-based list of common business vocabulary in Chinese and English. Each dialogue is presented with simplified characters, traditional characters, Pinyin, and English translations for easy reference and adaptation to learners' needs. The comprehensive exercise book is designed to complement the textbook content. For the convenience of learners, each lesson in the exercise book includes a vocabulary list corresponding to each dialogue in the textbook. The various exercises designed for each lesson are guided by functional teaching and interactive teaching principles, focusing on training in business Chinese conversation and application skills. We hope these teaching materials not only meet students' needs but also save teachers preparation time. Additionally, each volume includes a CD-ROM with accompanying texts and exercises, as well as various appendices and a bilingual vocabulary index.
