Features: Chengjiang boasts beautiful natural scenery, unique geological landscapes, rich history and culture, and vibrant folk customs. It is very close to the provincial capital, Kunming, and can be reached by car in just a few dozen minutes. Since the early 1980s, thanks to the crystal-clear waters of Fuxian Lake and the surrounding beautiful environment, the discovery of the Chengjiang animal fossil group, and the revival of the unique and rare Guansuo Opera, tourists and visitors from both domestic and international destinations have flocked here, sparking a rich tourism boom. However, due to constraints such as funding and infrastructure, the resource advantages have struggled to translate into economic benefits. At the beginning of this century, Yunnan Province designated Fuxian Lake as the provincial-level holiday tourism demonstration zone, while Yuxi City has developed Fuxian Lake and the ancient biological fossil sites of Mount Hatian as premium projects, implementing a brand strategy. Chengjiang County has also seized the opportunity provided by the province and the city, intensifying the development and construction of tourism attractions, products, and infrastructure around Fuxian Lake and Mount Hatian, focusing on both hardware and software improvements, as well as balancing resource utilization and environmental protection. The county aims to transform Fuxian Lake and Mount Hatian into internationally renowned tourism and research brand products.
