This is a heartfelt gift from our scholars to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the victory of the World War against Fascism. "1938: The Battle of Wuhan" is published by Hubei People's Publishing House. The book contains over 240,000 words and is richly illustrated, providing a comprehensive historical panorama of the Battle of Wuhan and a three-dimensional depiction of its progress. After reading the book, one not only learns about the sincere cooperation between the leaders of the Communist Party and the Kuomintang in the fight against Japanese aggression but also feels the anti-Japanese passion of ordinary people against the backdrop of the larger struggle. The Battle of Wuhan, which captivated the world 67 years ago, was a crucial battle in the early stages of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. It lasted for four and a half months and was the largest battle in Chinese history of the War of Resistance, with the largest number of troops mobilized by both the Chinese and Japanese sides. In this battle, the Chinese forces destroyed over 100,000 Japanese soldiers, effectively depleting the enemy's combat power and completely shattering Japan's dream of forcing the Chinese government to surrender through a swift victory. From then on, the Chinese War of Resistance entered a phase of stalemate, and the Japanese invaders were engulfed in the vast ocean of the Chinese people's war.
