Features: Diagnostics hold an important position in the field of medicine, guiding clinical treatment through the observation of physiological and pathological changes in the human body. It serves as a bridge between basic theory and clinical practice. Meridian and acupoint diagnosis is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine's meridian theory, utilizing the four diagnostic methods and modern technological instruments to collect pathological manifestations of meridians and acupoints for disease diagnosis, thereby guiding clinical treatment. It is characterized by sensitivity, simplicity, and objectivity, making it highly practical in acupuncture and moxibustion clinics. With the development of acupuncture and moxibustion, it has evolved into a comprehensive discipline with a progressively complete system, including disciplines such as meridian theory, acupoint theory, acupuncture and moxibustion techniques, and experimental acupuncture. However, there is a lack of a connecting course like meridian and acupoint diagnosis, as the traditional TCM diagnostics employed cannot meet the evolving needs of acupuncture and moxibustion clinics. TCM diagnostics is a comprehensive discipline in TCM diagnostics, but it cannot fully reflect the characteristics of acupuncture and moxibustion clinical diagnostics. Currently, the content related to acupuncture and moxibustion diagnostics in TCM diagnostics is scattered and lacks a comprehensive collection of pathological signs of meridians and acupoints. To achieve the goals of unblocking meridians and collaterals and preventing and treating diseases in acupuncture and moxibustion clinics, it is essential to first understand the functional states of the viscera and meridians, conduct a detailed examination of the flow of qi in the meridians, collaterals, and jingjin, thereby distinguishing the depth, severity, and meridian-visceral involvement of the disease, and then formulate a correct treatment plan. Therefore, there is a need for a specialized book on meridian and acupoint diagnosis to guide acupuncture and moxibustion clinical diagnostics. This book was published in response to the clinical needs.
