Features: The "Min-Taiwan Cultural Relations Series" is a monumental series of books written by experts and scholars from Fujian's humanities and social sciences circles. It was edited by Liu Denghan, a research fellow and Ph.D. supervisor at the Fujian Academy of Social Sciences, a leading expert in Taiwanese cultural studies, and Lin Guoping, a professor and Ph.D. supervisor, and the Deputy Director of the Min-Taiwan Regional Research Center at Fujian Normal University. The series was published and distributed by Fujian People's Publishing House. The complete series consists of eleven volumes, including "Chinese Culture and Min-Taiwan Society," "Exploring the Cultural Origins of Min-Taiwan's Ancestors," "Min-Taiwan Hakka Society and Culture," "The Origins and Evolution of Min-Taiwan Dialects," "The Integration and Development of Education in Min-Taiwan," "Min-Taiwan Folk Customs," "The Origins of Min-Taiwan Folk Beliefs," "The Cultural Kinship of Min-Taiwan and Chinese Literature," "The Inheritance and Transformation of Min-Taiwan Folk Opera," "The Origins and Forms of Min-Taiwan Folk Architecture," and "A Study of Min-Taiwan Minnan Folk Songs." The series spans over three million words in total. Grounded in Min-Taiwan culture and with a broader perspective on cross-strait relations and Chinese culture, this series of works focuses on Min-Taiwan as its center and culture as its key to analyze cross-strait relations. Tang Shubei pointed out that due to the half-century-long separation between Taiwan and the mainland of China, although Taiwanese culture has been influenced by Western cultures such as Europe and America due to historical reasons, its roots remain Chinese culture, which was passed down from Fujian. He said that this systematic study of Min-Taiwan culture highlights the "origin" and "bond" in the Min-Taiwan cultural relationship. By revealing the close kinship between "Min-Taiwan culture" and "Chinese culture," the series aims to better promote the unity of the Chinese nation and advance the completion of the great cause of national reunification. The "Min-Taiwan Cultural Relations Research Series" analyzes the inheritance relationship between Min-Taiwan culture and Chinese culture from various perspectives such as ancestor culture, Hakka culture, dialects, education, folk customs, folk beliefs, literature, opera, music, and architecture within the broader context of Chinese culture. It is one of the more systematic and comprehensive monographs in the study of Min-Taiwan cultural relations.
