Features: It is a great honor for me to have this book translated into Chinese. We live on different continents, and our histories are different, yet the problems are similar. If it is a fact that there is no society in the world where women live under the rule of men, then both our countries can ask the same questions: How can we find ways for women's economic and social liberation? How can we create conditions for women, who are treated as traditional commodities in families, to become democratic political subjects? How can we break the ancient division between the inspirational Muse and the creative genius? How can we think about the gendered nature of the world and the universal neutralization of the Republic? For these kinds of questions, we will not have simple answers. However, we know that there is no political equality without gender equality, and we know that the principle of equality is at the center of our intellectual and political pursuits.
