Features: "Sheet Metal Development" is a textbook compiled and expanded based on the lecture notes used by the authors for teaching sheet metal workers. The book not only introduces the principles and methods of sheet metal development, but also elaborates on the basic principles of descriptive geometry and drafting. It also provides specific examples of development drawings for typical components in practice, emphasizing the principles and patterns of these methods. The book is divided into six chapters. Chapters 1 to 3 explain the projection principles and drawing methods of points, lines, and planes. Chapter 4 describes the three basic methods of drawing development drawings and the method of calculating the angle of the template, introducing three practical and simplified methods of normal section developed by the authors. Chapter 5 starts by analyzing the geometric shapes of components and their interfaces, discussing and revealing the general principles of plate thickness treatment. In the sixth chapter of the book, the authors collected hundreds of types of sheet metal components, analyzed and compared them, and categorized them into ten types based on their intrinsic relationships. Typical structural development examples are listed, with a focus on explaining their characteristics and methods from a pattern perspective to achieve the effect of generalizing from one to all. Additionally, a certain number of exercises are provided at the end of each chapter, which should be considered as part of the book. This book is suitable for young workers to read and can also be used as a reference for relevant technical personnel and teachers in higher education institutions. Due to the authors' limited expertise, errors are inevitable, and we sincerely hope for criticism and correction from readers.
