Features: The articles collected in this volume, Wenlu, are roughly categorized by me. Some of them were originally published as a separate book titled Taidai Ren Xin Yu, which still retains this name, with the included texts dating up to 1990. Others are short essays that recall past events and offer impromptu comments, mostly written in the mid-1980s. Although they have been rearranged for this collection, their original column titles from their newspaper publications are retained, namely Ju Tan Zhi Jian Lu, Jin Men Luan Tan Lu, and Kan Xi Wen Zhi Lu. The last two parts are closer to personal essays—one discusses records, and the other chats about casual topics, both still centered around the broader theme of traditional Chinese opera. They are included here as an epilogue. In summary, the articles written in recent years on traditional Chinese opera are largely covered in this volume.
