From then on, Dori wore only red clothes to be like a potato; he made a series of absurd actions to become the best potato.
The protagonist Dori of Potato Dori's Growing Pains is a small potato. As an infant, he and his sister Coco were adopted by the potato couple from the orphanage and came to the potato village. He wanted to become the best potato, but as he grew older, Dori began to notice that he and his sister were different from the other potato friends—they all turned red when they grew up, but they kept getting yellower. Dori was very troubled and tried many ways to change himself, but nothing worked. During his attempts to transform himself, many stories happened in the life of the potato village: from hoping to change his identity through legends, to suspecting he was excluded and running away from home; from realizing his own abilities and going to work to pay for a gene conversion surgery, to participating in a marathon because he thought working was too slow; from winning the first kiss of a potato girl with sincerity, to winning the victory of a football match by working together.
Potato Dori went through a journey of doubting himself, denying himself, believing in himself, and becoming a true man. In this process, the love of his parents, the friendship of his friends, and the sweet love intertwined, shaping a vivid and lifelike potato character. Too funny, yet too sad. Little potato, you're so annoying, boo-hoo.
