Features: The Crow and the Pitcher
One crow was dying of thirst and saw a large pitcher. It flew up happily, wanting to drink. Unfortunately, the water in the pitcher was too shallow, and it couldn’t reach it at all. The crow thought of many ways, but still couldn’t drink a drop. Finally, the crow picked up many small pebbles and dropped them one by one into the pitcher until the water gradually rose to its beak, allowing it to finally drink and save itself. Necessity is the mother of invention.
The Crow and the Pitcher
A CROW perishing with thirst saw a pitcher, and hoping to find water, flew to it with delight. When it reached it, it discovered to its grief that it contained so little water that it could not possibly get at it. It tried everything it could think of to reach the water, but all its efforts were in vain. At last it collected as many stones as it could carry and dropped them one by one with its beak into the pitcher, until it brought the water within its reach and thus saved its life. Necessity is the mother of invention. P1
