Features: This book is written in accordance with the requirements of the revised "Teaching Syllabus for College Russian" issued in June 2001. It primarily aims to cultivate students' reading comprehension skills while developing their listening, speaking, writing, and translation abilities. It helps students master effective language learning methods, build a solid language foundation, and enables them to use Russian as a communication tool to acquire professional information. Each volume of the book contains 12 lessons (including two review lessons). Each lesson includes a text, text annotations, a vocabulary list, a phrase list, active vocabulary explanations, after-lesson exercises, grammar explanations, and grammar exercises. The text consists of two parts: the main text (ТекстⅠ) and the supplementary text (ТекстⅡ). The main text is designed for intensive reading in the classroom, while the supplementary text is used in conjunction with the main text. It can be explained in class or assigned as homework for students to complete and review in class to check their understanding of the text. The purpose is to reinforce the content of the main text, expand vocabulary and reading volume. The selection of the supplementary text (ТекстⅡ) is carefully chosen to maintain a certain connection with the main text (ТекстⅠ) in terms of themes, genres, vocabulary, and grammatical phenomena. After each main text (ТекстⅠ), there is an active vocabulary explanation (Лексическаяработа). The selected vocabulary are common, polysemous, and relatively difficult-to-master verbs from the main text (ТекстⅠ) of the same lesson. Exercises are provided for the key vocabulary in the after-lesson exercises, and they are repeated in subsequent lessons to help students master and apply them in verbal communication. The grammar content of this book is determined based on the revised syllabus and the existing Russian grammar knowledge structure and proficiency level of students before they enter college. The goal is to consolidate the grammar learned in high school while expanding and in-depth explaining the content that should be mastered in college. The grammar explanations are concise and to the point, with short examples that clearly illustrate the concepts. Efforts are made to use charts and tables to systematize complex grammatical phenomena, making them easier for students to grasp. The grammar topics in the book are arranged according to the syllabus requirements. During the writing process, both the requirements of grammar teaching itself and its coordination with grammatical phenomena in the texts were taken into account. The text and grammar exercises in this book focus on language skill training, with diverse forms and a large number of exercises, allowing teachers to select and use them according to teaching needs. The vocabulary starting point of this book is the 1,630 words listed in the "Vocabulary List for the National Unified Examination for College Entrance (Russian)" attached to the syllabus (see the total vocabulary list at the back of this book). This list is used to determine the new vocabulary in the book's texts. In addition to the vocabulary list for each text at the end of each lesson, a total vocabulary list for the entire volume is provided at the back of each book for review and reference.
