Publishing Date: 2005-05-01
Features: Modern Bashu poetry and prose, as an important component of modern literature, not only bears the distinct mark of its era but also possesses unique regional characteristics. Nourished by the beauty of the land, inspired by the dedication of predecessors, and nurtured by traditional culture, the sensitive minds of the poets have collectively shaped the style of Bashu poetry as profound, natural, striking, and expressive. Meanwhile, the pursuit of excellence and the expression of personal sentiments highlight the individual identities of the poets. The mainstream poetic schools in the modern literary scene, apart from the "Tongguang School" of Fujian, Jiangxi, and Zhejiang, include the Huaxiang School led by Wang Kailian, the Tang-Song School led by Zhang Zhidong, the "Poetry Revolution" School led by Huang Zunxian and Qiu Feng, as well as the "Nanshe" group advocating for the old democratic revolution. Although the Bashu poetic scene was influenced by these schools, it remained independent and free from their dominance, standing out distinctly among them. Critics often describe it as "Tang spirit, Song appearance," praising its depth and strength, which rival those of the Fujian and Jiangxi schools.
