Features: This is a work ofliterature. Hong Kong writer Li Bihua, through in-depth research and moving prose, records the tragic fate of a "comfort woman" whose youth was betrayed, whose pure heart was tortured, and who spent her life living with the memory of humiliation. It is an exposure, an accusation, and a concrete expression of a writer's conscience and humanitarian spirit! She was considered 'dirty' by the secular world as a comfort woman, but there was once a man who couldn't tolerate others treating her lightly. He truly respected her, treating her as his woman, his wife. This fact not only made Grandma Yuan grateful for her entire life but also moved me. Between people, it is this kind of 'affection.'
Cries could be faintly heard from the garden—no, it was the howling of foxes. Many of them were wagging their fluffy tails and circling slowly, but many had resigned themselves, curling up, resting their arms as pillows, like a woman, without any sense of security, half-asleep and half-awake. It glared at you sideways, then squinted without acknowledging you, because you didn't understand it. At midnight, the foxes would shake themselves, exuding an unconscious allure, filled with endless longing, transforming into charming women.
She pursued freedom, longed to understand, fought for recognition, and mistakenly believed in love.
