Features: This book is primarily intended to provide Chinese students preparing to study in Canada with new and as complete as possible study abroad information. The focus of the book is to introduce 393 Canadian universities currently certified by the Canadian government (as of June 2005). These universities are listed in the "List of Certified Canadian Higher Education Institutions" by the Canadian Information Center for International Qualifications Assessment. Among them, 107 are listed in the "World University List" by UNESCO, and 196 are listed in the "List of Canadian Higher Education Institutions" by the China Ministry of Education's Overseas Education Supervision Information Network. The book is divided into four parts: Part 1, which introduces basic information about Canada, the differences in higher education systems among provinces and regions, and the certification of Canadian universities. Part 2, which covers the procedures for applying to Canadian universities and for obtaining visas, including checklists for required materials for Canadian university applications, Canadian study visa applications, and regulations for international students working and required materials for applying for work permits. Part 3, which provides a directory of the 393 certified Canadian higher education institutions. Part 4, which offers information about 164 cities and regions in Canada where Canadian higher education institutions are located.
