Introduction to Modern Logistics

Features: This textbook is designed for college students majoring in logistics and beginners interested in logistics. As mentioned earlier, although the concept of logistics has been introduced to China for a relatively short time, the study and exploration of logistics theory are still in full swing. Academic papers and monographs on logistics have become a "highlight" in the publishing industry, but they generally interpret the process of logistics activities from the perspective of logistics technology or logistics management. In contrast, this book approaches logistics activities from the perspective of logistics systems, focusing on the economic activities of "supply logistics," "enterprise logistics," and "retail logistics" to understand the systematic nature of logistics. At the same time, it also examines the evolution of business operations to recognize and learn the value of the supply chain system. In other words, it understands the existence and operational connotations of each logistics function from the perspective of dynamic economic activities.
Although titled Introduction to Modern Logistics, this book does not cover the broader scope of modern logistics activities but only involves a part of actual logistics practices. As an economic activity phenomenon, logistics requires an extremely wide range of understanding. When discussing these logistics phenomena, this book attempts to combine theory with practice and systematically explore these phenomena. Whether it has achieved this goal is for the readers to judge.
