Features: In the process of learning English, the mastery and application of vocabulary are both (difficult points) and key areas in English testing. This is not only because the amount of vocabulary a student possesses can measure their English proficiency, but also because a solid vocabulary foundation is the guarantee for improving and developing abilities in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation. With the reform of English teaching in secondary schools, many schools have adopted imported textbooks like the all-English version of "Oxford English." This is beneficial for improving the effectiveness of English teaching. However, at the same time, since these textbooks contain no Chinese explanations, students have to spend a lot of time looking up dictionaries to accurately understand and master the new words they encounter. Because general dictionaries are not very targeted, the content they provide can sometimes be too deep, sometimes too shallow, and sometimes not comprehensive enough, making it difficult to fully meet students' needs for mastering new words in the textbooks. To address this issue, we have written this vocabulary handbook. In addition to providing phonetic symbols, definitions, and example sentences for each word, this handbook selectively offers content such as "Key Points," "Derived Words," "Antonyms," "Synonyms," "Smart Memory Techniques," and "Distinguishing between Similar Words" based on the needs of learning and exams. In terms of word arrangement, it follows the same order as the textbook. This not only helps readers master new words in the shortest time and at the fastest speed but also helps them remember words related to the entries. This handbook is mainly intended for high school students using the "Oxford textbook," but it is also helpful for high school students using other English textbooks in mastering some of the vocabulary for the college entrance examination.
