Arrange the entire sheet of lead paper side by side on the floor. Pour various colors into containers (line the containers with towels or sponges) and place them around the paper. 2. Toddlers have already cut out colored geometric shapes (circles, triangles, squares, and polygons) from self-adhesive stickers in the previous class. 3. Toddlers take off their shoes and socks, and roll up their pants legs.
Activity Process: 1. Teachers and toddlers dance barefoot to cheerful music.:,,(experience the weight of stepping, the speed of footsteps). 2. Game "Dancing Little Feet" (1) Teacher demonstration: First, choose a shape buddy, then put "beautiful clothes" on the feet (both feet dip into the colored paint of their choice in the containers), and you can perform on the stage. Demonstrate while explaining: "Walk like a chick, hop like a rabbit, stomp like a tiger." The teacher leaves footprints on the "stage" (white paper) and then sticks the shape buddy onto the footprints. (2) Color play: The teacher asks the toddlers to choose a beautiful shape buddy and put "beautiful clothes" on their feet (dip their little feet into the colored paint in the containers) before performing on the stage. The toddlers play with colors and leave footprints while singing the rhyme to music, and then stick the shape buddies onto the "stage" (paper). (Limit 6–7 toddlers per sheet of paper). 3. Artwork Appreciation: Teachers and toddlers together admire the artwork, asking the toddlers to describe what the overlapping footprints resemble.
Guidance Tips: 1. Preparations should be meticulous. If using warm water to mix colors in early autumn. 2. The emotional engagement before color play greatly influences the activity. Teachers must carefully design the preparation.
Activity Objectives: 1. Cut and paste pebbles to practice cutting circles, reinforcing scissor skills. 2. Enrich knowledge about fish.
Activity Preparation: 1. One underwater world picture. 2. Various colored pebbles, fish models, and warm-colored self-adhesive stickers. 3. Lead paper painted with dark blue background color (same number as the number of toddlers).
Activity Process (Part 1): 1. Toddlers observe the displayed fish models and are told that fish, like children, also have their own homes—rivers and oceans are the homes of fish. 2. Toddlers observe underwater world pictures to learn that fish homes are beautiful. They should carefully observe what is in the underwater world (seaweed, rocks, etc.). These rocks have a lovely name called pebbles. Toddlers observe real pebbles. 3. The teacher demonstrates how to cut and paste pebbles: Fold the square self-adhesive sticker in half, cut out a semicircle, and unfold it. 4. Toddlers cut and paste colored pebbles. The teacher suggests using small paper strips to decorate the beautiful patterns of the pebbles. When pasting, they can find "good friends" for the pebbles, holding hands or hugging (overlapping). 5. Appreciation and evaluation: Who has prepared a beautiful home for the fish.
Guidance Tips: 1. When observing pebbles, toddlers should pay attention to the colors and patterns of the rocks and reflect this in their cutting and pasting. 2. The background paper for the toddlers should be dark in color. When painting, it doesn’t need to be too even—the thickness and hue differences of the colors will create contrast with the smooth self-adhesive stickers.
Activity Process (Part 2): 1. Toddlers observe ocean pictures to see what is in the ocean world (seaweed, reefs, fish). 2. The teacher guides toddlers to observe the shapes of fish, then shows a mermaid fish picture and explains the shapes of its parts. 3. Learning to cut mermaid fish: The teacher demonstrates: fold the paper in half, cut a circle for the fish body, cut a curved moon shape for the tail, and cut two thin, long fish fins. Toddlers learn to cut mermaid fish. 4. Send the mermaid fish to its beautiful home. 5. Appreciation and exchange: Toddlers’ artwork is displayed together as an "underwater world."
