Features: Kuang Jian (1961.11—) is from Anhui. He specializes in oil painting. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the People's Liberation Army Art College in 1983. He is a visual artist at the Eight-One Film Studio. His works include "Pastoral Return," "Small Boat by the Sea," and "Wenwen." "Brown Twilight" won a bronze medal at the 7th National Fine Arts Exhibition, and "Wenwen" was selected for the China Oil Painting Exhibition. Kuang Jian emerged during the transition of Chinese art from the 1980s to the 1990s. He gained attention as a new artist in the early 1990s because his debut represented, in a sense, the transformation of Chinese art. He attempted to incorporate the processes and conceptual forms of installation and performance art into his ( refers to traditional easel painting) while retaining the knowledge and skills of, thereby creating "unnatural copies" and expressing a new reality, demonstrating his keen sense of the times. It can be said that he holds considerable typical significance in 1990s painting.
