Features: Clinical Psychopharmacology is a comprehensive book with 700,000 words and 22 chapters, divided into two parts: General Principles and Specific Topics. The General Principles section primarily introduces the fundamental clinical pharmacological knowledge related to psychotropic drugs. The Specific Topics section covers the clinical knowledge of various psychotropic drugs, primarily classified by clinical application with chemical structure as a secondary criterion. Each drug is selected with 3-6 commonly used English and Chinese names. At the beginning of each chapter, major drug categories or primary drug classes are introduced with an overview of one or a group of representative drugs, enabling readers to understand the basic theories and knowledge. Subsequently, the book is organized in the following order: chemical structure, pharmacokinetics, mechanism of action and indications, dosage and administration, formulations, adverse reactions and precautions. For recently developed drugs, brief introductions are provided along with 1-3 recently published clinical literature references for further consultation. This book also introduces traditional Chinese medicine for mental activities, presenting the relevant content of traditional Chinese medicine to a broad readership. The book covers over 600 psychotropic drugs, including new drugs expected to complete clinical trials and be ready for market release in 2004. It particularly lists the chemical structures and names of almost all drugs and provides treatment guidelines for various mental disorders such as schizophrenia, depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, and dementia in the elderly, following the provisional guidelines for mental disorder prevention and treatment compiled by experts organized by the Ministry of Health. Therefore, this book is suitable for psychiatrists and nurses to consult during daily practice, as well as for healthcare professionals and pharmacologists in other disciplines, and for faculty and students in medical schools.
