Features: Detailed Description: The new Civil Servant Law, which took effect on January 1, 2006, improved the classification management system for civil servants. It specifically stipulates that civil servant positions are divided into three categories—general management, professional technology, and law enforcement—based on their nature. The new Civil Servant Law emphasizes that the assessment content for different categories of positions should be set according to the specific positions to promote the scientific development of examinations. In accordance with the requirements of the Civil Servant Law for position classification and the results of pilot programs for position classification, candidates applying for general management and law enforcement positions will take two exams: "Administrative Aptitude Test" and "Essay Writing." The "Administrative Aptitude Test" consists of two volumes, (I) and (II), which are used for candidates applying for general management and law enforcement positions, respectively. They differ in question types, quantity, and difficulty.
II. Overview of Question Types, Scores, and Exam Structure for "Administrative Aptitude Test" and "Essay Writing"
The public subjects of the national civil servant recruitment exam are based on the "Exam Outline," while the professional subjects are determined by the recruiting departments. The interview is conducted after passing the written exam.
"Administrative Aptitude Test I" includes five sections: verbal comprehension and expression, common sense judgment (with a focus on the application of legal knowledge), quantitative relationships, logical reasoning, and data analysis. All questions are multiple-choice and objective, with a test duration of 120 minutes and a maximum score of 100.
"Administrative Aptitude Test II" has the same exam structure and duration as "Administrative Aptitude Test I," but differs in question types, quantity, and difficulty.
"Essay Writing" primarily assesses candidates' ability to analyze, summarize, refine, and process given materials, testing their ability to solve practical problems using theories such as Marxism, Deng Xiaoping Theory, law, and administrative management, as well as their reading comprehension, comprehensive analysis, problem identification, and written expression skills. All questions are subjective, with a test duration of 150 minutes and a maximum score of 100.
Notes: Under the principle of maintaining the basic structure while making adjustments, the 2006 central and national government civil servant recruitment exam and staff recruitment exam canceled the "Event Sequencing" question type and replaced it with "Analogical Reasoning" to assess candidates' reasoning abilities. The Red Book series tutorials have newly added focused guidance on this question type.
