Features: Leizhou dialect, a sub-dialect of the Minnan dialect system, is spoken by over 5 million people. The author conducted his first dialect survey in Haikang County and other areas of Leizhou Peninsula from October to December 1983. Subsequently, he has made multiple research trips to the Leizhou Peninsula. Based on extensive hand materials, this book provides a relatively accurate analysis and description of the phonological system, lexical features, and grammatical features of Leizhou dialect. It also offers an in-depth exploration of the phonological system of Leizhou dialect from both diachronic and synchronic perspectives. It aims to provide useful materials for dialect research and phonological history studies, as well as theoretical guidance and assistance for Leizhou people learning Mandarin.
