Nana immediately ran to the window, and with a loud bang, closed the window. Our poor Peter Pan, though he had left, his shadow was stuck on the windowsill. "Oh my goodness!" Mrs. Darling quickly rushed to the window, fearing the boy would fall. But below was clean and dry, not a single leaf in sight. Mrs. Darling carefully rolled up Peter Pan's shadow and put it in the drawer. The next night, Mr. and Mrs. Darling were going to attend a party at their neighbor's house. Nana ran around the yard all night, barking incessantly. Mr. Darling, very angry, chained Nana in the yard. Just as Mr. and Mrs. Darling entered the neighbor's house, the stars in the sky immediately stirred. The smallest star among them shouted with all its might, "Now, Peter Pan!" The nursery was quiet, the children all asleep, and the three lamps yawned one after another, closing their eyes.
