Charlie Asunder takes six lions from the circus and an ancient monster cloned by humans, under the protection of the Bulgarian King Boris, on a train journey into Venice, Italy. In the city gradually submerged by water, the winged, large-bodied sword dragon monster, the asthmatic, allergic cat Sergey, the evil force of Copper Ridge, the kidnapped parents, the governor's office, Edward—all the mysteries are like buildings eroded by water in the city, being peeled away layer by layer. All the mysteries converge in the water city of Venice.
