A few days later, when the king passed through the village, he heard this prophecy. He was very angry and took the boy away, placing him in a wooden box and throwing it into the river. The box drifted down the river and was eventually found by a couple who ran a mill. Not having any children of their own, they were overjoyed and raised him as their own son. Thirteen years later, the boy grew into a handsome young man. One day, the king happened to pass by the mill. When he heard that the young man had arrived thirteen years ago from the river, he was greatly alarmed. He called the young man over and gave him a letter, saying, "I have written a letter to the queen. Take it for me!" The young man, following the king's instructions, took the letter and set off. However, unfortunately, he got lost in the forest and ended up at the thieves' den. The thieves heard about the young man's situation and allowed him to stay the night. That night, after the young man fell asleep, the thieves opened the letter and found it said, "Kill the young man who is delivering this letter!" The thieves tore up the letter and, imitating the king's handwriting, wrote, "Let the princess marry the young man who is delivering this letter!" The next morning, the thieves gave the young man the letter and told him the way to the capital. The young man arrived in the capital and delivered the letter to the queen. Following the letter's instructions, the queen married the young man to the princess. Soon after, the king returned to the capital. When he saw that the young man had married the princess, he was furious. However, by then, everything was already beyond repair. Therefore, he told the young man, "If you want to marry my daughter, you must go to hell and pull out three strands of the devil's golden hair." Thus, the young man bid farewell to his wife and set off for hell. P1-3
