Batel is a renowned poet and writer in the northern region. Since 1985, eight of his books have been published in collections. After stepping down from his administrative leadership position in 2002, he revised and expanded his four-volume Selected Works, which were published in 2003. Among these volumes, the Reflections section is particularly outstanding, while the Poetry and Essays sections also contain many excellent pieces. What surprised me, however, was that less than a year later, Batel placed three thick manuscripts on my desk—this is the newly published and exquisite Three Flavors of Ink Series.
I remember when I reviewed them, I was instantly impressed and deeply moved. I immediately recognized that this would be a bestseller, even if it were a first printing, and expressed my willingness to strongly recommend it to publishers far away.
