Civil Law Encouragement to Learn

Author: (Japan) Hideo Hoshino / Country: Mainland China
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2006-07-01
Features: This book is less about providing a legal explanation of the logical structure of civil law and more about examining civil law from multiple perspectives, such as historical, social, and intellectual ones, presenting civil law as a social entity in a comprehensive and multidimensional manner. Although this book is akin to the general theory or introduction of civil law, such an attempt, like my previous works on civil law's specific branches—Civil Law—Property Law and Family Law—may well be unprecedented in Japan. This book is the result of Professor Hideo Hoshino's 50 years of dedication to cultivating legal professionals, written as a popular civil law educational work. The professor believes that "the rule of experts in law is not a good phenomenon" and strives to return civil law studies to the "implementers of civil law," aiming to establish a solid social foundation for civil law. Centered on law, the book incorporates knowledge from a wide range of fields, including linguistics, theology, history, sociology, economics, and epistemology. Readers, regardless of which part they start with, can perceive the presence of the spirit of civil law in a living society and experience and grasp the thinking of law.
