Features: The content and characteristics of this book are as follows:
Grammar Items: The book contains 14 units in total, with each UNIT covering one grammar item. It covers the "Grammar Item List" from the "Junior High School English Teaching Syllabus" (which is also part of the junior high school entrance examination syllabus) and fully references the "English Curriculum Standards for Nine-Year Compulsory Education" as well as the relevant content from current textbooks for each corresponding grade level.
Grammar Points: Each UNIT lists several grammar points, either as simple descriptions or as typical structures. The selection and establishment of these points are based on the following two considerations: First, the fundamental structures or key points that need to be mastered; second, the easily confused or mistaken areas in learning, i.e., the difficulties. This book reflects the requirements of English teaching and examinations while also being a valuable crystallization of the compilers' many years of teaching experience.
Example Sentences and Explanations: After each grammar point, typical example sentences and brief explanations are provided in a tabular format for easy comparison and clarity. This is an example-based grammar book: It is hoped that learners will grasp the three-dimensional nature of grammar—i.e., "structural form + linguistic meaning + linguistic application—by observing a certain number of typical example sentences. This will enable them to master grammar in real-life usage and lay a solid foundation for using English grammar correctly and appropriately.
Tips: When necessary, related knowledge about a certain grammar structure is provided in the form of "Tips," especially the vocabulary applicable to that grammar structure. We believe that grammar is not just isolated and rigid rules but should and needs to be mastered through specific vocabulary. This is also a vocabulary-based grammar book. Combined with the relevant grammar points, it provides vocabulary that may be involved, offering learners reliable materials and effective help in future practical language use.
Practice: At the end of each UNIT, there is "PRACTICE" based on the content of the UNIT, providing various forms of exercises. It is preferable to use paragraph-style exercises as much as possible, offering readers contexts that are realistic, diverse, and close to actual usage, so that they can learn (or review) the application of the grammar they have learned in practice. It is hoped that this book will become a good example of "learning grammar through application," with particular attention paid to habitual usages that deviate from common rules, i.e., the application of grammar in real language.
