From this theoretical theme and problem domain, the book categorizes the diverse and vibrant modern Marxist aesthetics and literary theory into four basic theoretical forms. For each form, it conducts a detailed theoretical analysis of four representative figures. Additionally, under the backdrop of a pluralistic and contentious theoretical landscape, it compares four representative Western bourgeois aesthetics and literary systems to highlight the distinctive ideological character and value orientation of Marxist aesthetics and literary theory. The theoretical research work undertaken in this book—analyzing modern Marxist aesthetics and literary theory from the perspectives of morphology and thematics—bears a certain degree of theoretical innovation, making it meaningful and valuable.
