Ruxisi won a beautiful prize toy—a fluffy panda—during the Spring Festival Gala. This panda was over a foot tall, plump, and incredibly cute. When Ruxisi brought the panda home, the whole family praised it. Her parents cheered, and even Pipi Lu stared at the giant panda with wide eyes for five full minutes without blinking. "Let's give the panda a name!" Ruxisi suggested. "Call it Huanhuan!" Mom said, "To celebrate the Spring Festival." "Too common," Pipi Lu objected. "Call it Pangpang, look how fat it is!" Dad added. "There are too many pangpangs on the street!" Pipi Lu rejected it again. "What name do you suggest?" Mom asked to see what her son could do. "Its ears look like two wrapped black cloths, let's call it Baor!" Pipi Lu spoke with confidence. "Baor!" Dad thought the pronunciation was good, but the writing was not attractive. "Is there anyone with the surname Bao in China?" Ruxisi asked. "Of course! Bao Gong has the surname Bao!" Pipi Lu said. "The character Bao doesn't look good when written. Wait, let's give the panda the surname Bao and change the character for ear too." Dad wrote "Baoer" on paper. "Great!" Ruxisi thought the name was perfect. The whole family agreed. "Baoer, I'll sleep with you tonight, but you can't kick the blanket!" Ruxisi hugged Baoer and kissed him. "Be careful he pees the bed!" Pipi Lu wanted to take Baoer to his room to play. "Thank you for the reminder," Ruxisi replied, not falling for it. "Good night!" Pipi Lu pouted. That night, Ruxisi slept soundly with Baoer. The next morning, Pipi Lu walked into his sister's room. "There's a flu outbreak outside, why haven't you given Baoer a vaccine?" Pipi Lu came up with a playful trick. Ruxisi also thought it would be fun to give the panda a shot. "Do we have a syringe?" Ruxisi asked. "I'll get one from Mom's medicine box." Pipi Lu said, then went to the closet in the hallway to find Mom's medicine box. Mom was a doctor and often treated neighbors for free, so they had a first-aid kit at home. While Mom wasn't looking, Pipi Lu took out a syringe from the medicine box. "What medicine should I give Baoer?" Pipi Lu thought. He immediately spotted the oranges on the dining table. Yes, he would draw some orange juice and inject it into Baoer—it would be nutritious! Pipi Lu was delighted. He picked up an orange and slipped into his room. Pipi Lu stuck the needle into the orange and slowly pulled the plunger, drawing out a tube of bright orange orange juice. He pulled out the syringe, turned it upside down, and squeezed out a few drops of orange juice into his mouth. It was sweet—perfect! Pipi Lu rushed into his sister's room like the wind. "Come on, let's give Baoer a vaccine." Pipi Lu held the syringe in one hand and pulled Baoer with the other. P7-9
