Features: Integrity Achieves Career Success No matter when or where you are, or with whom you associate, you must be loyal to yourself, act consistently, and uphold your beliefs and values—this is the essence of integrity. If you lack integrity, you will eventually lose everything. Because others cannot trust you, will not work with you, or engage in transactions with you. If no one is willing to collaborate with you, your career will fail, and the outcome will be the same regardless of the type of business. A salesman once said: During my university years, I worked for a company that sold milk alternatives as liquid beverages. I was a sales representative, achieving the highest sales performance in the entire company and owning two sales stations. However, due to the lack of integrity and diligence among some of the company's leaders, the entire company collapsed. Any person entering the sales industry knows that, fundamentally, money is the starting point of everything. People join companies to earn money, which is not wrong at all. On the contrary, I feel uneasy about those who do not think this way, because nothing around us does not require spending money. Of course, family, friendship, and interpersonal relationships are built on things more valuable than money. However, when it comes to business, as long as we enter the business world, whether as employees, consultants, bosses, partners, or consumers, we cannot be separated from money. But having money alone, without integrity and good business reputation, means no one will do business with you, and you will earn nothing. Focus on who you are, rather than what you do, because who you are is where your value lies. What kind of person are you? What do you value? How do you live? What relationships do you have with others? What are your qualities? These are the only things that matter. Because who you are will determine what you do. An honest person will do the right thing at the right time, even if no one sees or knows. Abraham Lincoln said it well: "Integrity is not the attitude of doing the right thing because it is the right thing; integrity is an effective way to achieve quick success." Do you feel like such a person? I believe that being an honest person should be the first goal everyone strives to achieve. Do not do unto others what you do not want done unto yourself. Hope that others treat you in a certain way, and you must treat others the same way—be honest and trustworthy, which are all essential for success. For example, if you are currently engaging in business transactions with others, you should focus on creating a situation that benefits both parties, rather than just hoping to extract something from the other party while completely disregarding their sacrifices. Integrity, honesty, consistency, perseverance, and responsibility are all qualities that lead to success and are the most worthwhile goals in our lives. P28-29
