Features: English writing has always been a challenge for Chinese students. Many complain that they have memorized numerous online sample essays, yet achieve minimal results. Beyond grammar and vocabulary issues, many students struggle with having no idea how to approach essay topics, despite having a wealth of examples. They don’t know how to organize their thoughts, making it difficult to start writing. Clearly, they face not just "writing poorly" but "not knowing how to write." During the writing process of this book, the authors conducted interviews with a large number of students and found that many lacked good writing habits and followed unscientific writing processes, lacking essential writing skills. To address common student issues, this book is designed for students aiming for an IELTS score of 7 or below, offering the following assistance:
1. Strengthen a scientific writing process: From understanding the topic to brainstorming, outlining, and finally reviewing the entire essay. Each step is broken down in detail, providing hands-on guidance to solve students' doubts about "how to write," "where to start," and "what to do at each step."
2. Conduct targeted skill training: The skill orientation of the IELTS writing exam is highly clear. The two essays separately assess different writing skills, such as describing data, analyzing and comparing, presenting and supporting opinions, etc. After a detailed analysis of official sample essays, examiner comments, and official scoring guidelines, the authors have categorized the skills tested in the IELTS writing exam into three difficulty levels, progressing from easy to advanced to guide students step by step.
3. Integrate scenarios and topics throughout the book: With skill training as the core, the book includes numerous in-class and after-class exercises, connected by scenarios and topics. It aims to help students, through this book, to confidently address various essay topics (e.g., family-related, environmental issues, etc.) with logical arguments. By engaging in relaxed and enjoyable scenarios, students will better understand IELTS writing key points and move toward higher scores.
