Features: With the gradual advancement of curriculum reform, the book Selected National Middle School Examination Questions for New Curriculum Standards Experimental Regions was jointly compiled by Beijing Tianli Examination Information Network and the Examination Research Center of the National Learning Science Research Association. It accompanied the successful advancement of candidates from the 2005 and 2006 middle school entrance examination batches into key high schools in various provinces and cities. Thanks to its excellent sales performance and positive user feedback in 2005 and 2006, the book not only repeatedly ranked among the top of the "Open Book" best-selling teaching aid rankings but also left a strong impression on teachers and lower-grade students in schools. By the time the 2006 middle school entrance examination had not yet ended, many teachers and candidates preparing to enter the third grade had consulted via phone or email on how to purchase the 2007 edition more quickly. Faced with such affection, all our writing and editing staff were even more diligent. Based on a thorough review of the experiences and lessons learned from the previous two editions, we analyzed and studied over 100 latest national middle school examination questions from across the country, selecting 18 of them to compile into this book to help candidates prepare for exams more effectively and take them with ease. When using this book, please note the following:
1. Since 1998, when the Ministry of Education's Basic Education Department issued the proposal for middle school entrance examination reform, the guiding principles for exam question setting across the country have gradually been unified. Exam questions in various regions are formulated in accordance with the curriculum standards or teaching syllabi, reflecting the spirit of quality education. They emphasize connecting with social realities and students' lives, focusing on assessing students' knowledge and skills while prioritizing their ability to apply learned knowledge to analyze and solve practical problems. The questions selected in this book meet the above requirements, and candidates in all provinces and cities can use them with confidence.
2. The subjects, formats, question structures, and scoring systems of middle school entrance examinations vary across regions. In terms of subjects, there is a trend of combining nearly all content from physics, chemistry, biology, or politics, history, and geography into a single comprehensive exam paper. Some subjects, such as politics, history, and comprehensive exams, are increasingly adopting open-book or semi-open-book formats. To help candidates familiarize themselves with different exam formats, this book emphasizes the diversity of the selected questions.
3. This book is the economical edition of Selected National Middle School Examination Questions for 38 Sets by Tianli, with some overlap with the original. It is primarily intended for candidates who do not have the time or resources to take many practice tests or who face financial constraints. If candidates need more practice questions, they can choose the Selected National Middle School Examination Questions for 38 Sets by Tianli. Candidates in non-curriculum reform regions can opt for the Selected National Middle School Examination Questions for Non-Experimental Regions by Tianli. However, they can also refer to this book, as the new curriculum standards for middle school entrance examinations represent a new direction, and even non-experimental regions will be influenced by them.
4. To better support candidates' review, we invited teachers responsible for setting or grading questions from various regions to provide solutions and comments on the selected questions in the book, based on extensive feedback from teachers and candidates.
5. We have specially invited American experts to record listening tapes for the first nine English questions in this book. The playback speed is slightly faster than the actual exam to better help candidates improve their listening skills. Due to limitations in collecting listening materials, other English questions in the book do not include listening tapes. Candidates who need more listening practice can download additional free listening materials from Beijing Tianli Examination Information Network (readers can also discuss the book's content with relevant experts and teachers in the "Reader's Refueling Station" and access the latest middle school entrance examination information and questions for free). We believe this book will become a valuable companion for candidates preparing for the middle school entrance examination!
