Features: His music indeed possesses an irresistible charm! I like him for a simple reason: his moving music, his fresh and deeply humanistic ballads—his tender vocals; his alternative R&B; his rap that sounds like a tongue twister; his melodies that seem to sing yet not sing, to recite yet not recite, filled with numerous syncopated rhythms. Moreover, what is even more important is that in his music, the use of harmonies is like playing magic, so ingenious and miraculous that it defies belief, exquisite and masterful! This clearly shows his profound foundation in classical music! At the end of the day, the success of a song often relies not only on heartfelt singing but also on the support of many elements such as harmonies, rhythm, melody, and timbre. Jay Chou's musical works can offer us more inspiration! Jay Chou's music is the new music of the new century. Like Cui Jian, Chyi Chin, Gao Xiaosong, and Yuquan did back then, Jay Chou is deeply influencing a certain part of this era, especially the youth. I believe that in the future, more talented and gifted "Jay Chous" will emerge in our sight. In light of this, we have compiled the most representative songs from Jay Chou's four albums into this book, "Cool Jay Chou."
