Features: With the gradual advancement of curriculum reform, the book Selected National Middle School Examination Questions for New Curriculum Standard Experimental Areas, co-authored by Beijing Tianli Exam Information Network and the Examination Research Center of the National Learning Science Research Association, has accompanied the candidates of the 2005 and 2006 middle school entrance examination batches in successfully entering key high schools in various provinces and cities. Thanks to its excellent sales performance and positive feedback from candidates in 2005 and 2006, the book not only ranked among the top of the "Open Book" best-selling teaching aids list for multiple times but also left a strong impression on teachers and lower-grade students in various schools. By the time the 2006 middle school entrance examination had not yet ended, many teachers and candidates who were about to enter the third grade had consulted via phone, email, and other means on how to purchase the 2007 edition more quickly. Faced with everyone's affection, all the writing and editing staff were even more vigilant and, based on a thorough review of the experiences and lessons learned from the previous two editions, analyzed and selected more than 100 latest middle school entrance examination questions nationwide. From these, 18 questions were carefully compiled into this book to assist candidates in high-efficiency preparation and relaxed examination-taking. When using this book, please note the following:
1. Since the Ministry of Education's Basic Education Department issued the proposal for middle school entrance examination reform in 1998, marking the beginning of the reform, the guiding principles for examination question-setting across the country have gradually been unified. Exams in various regions are designed in accordance with the curriculum standards or teaching syllabi, reflecting the spirit of quality education. They emphasize connecting questions to social realities and students' lives, focusing on assessing candidates' ability to apply knowledge to analyze and solve practical problems. All the questions selected in this book meet the above requirements, and candidates in all provinces and cities can use them with confidence.
2. The subjects, formats, question structures, and scoring systems of middle school entrance examinations vary across regions. In terms of subjects, there is a trend of combining almost all content from physics, chemistry, biology, or politics, history, and geography into a single comprehensive exam paper. Some subjects, such as politics, history, and comprehensive exams, are increasingly adopting open-book or semi-open-book formats. To help candidates familiarize themselves with different examination formats, this book emphasizes the diversity of the selected questions.
3. This book is the economical edition of Selected National Middle School Entrance Examination Questions for New Curriculum Standard Experimental Areas, with some overlap with Tianli 38 Sets. It is primarily intended for candidates who do not have the time or resources to do many practice questions or who face financial constraints. If candidates need more practice questions, they can choose the Tianli 38 Sets edition. Candidates in non-curriculum reform regions can opt for the Tianli 38 Sets edition for non-experimental areas. However, they can also refer to this book, as the new curriculum standard-based exams represent a new direction, and even non-experimental region exams will be influenced by them.
4. To better support candidates' review, we invited teachers responsible for question-setting or grading from various regions to provide solutions and comments on the selected questions in the book, based on extensive feedback from teachers and candidates.
5. We have specially invited American experts to record listening tapes for the first nine English questions in this book. The playback speed is slightly faster than the actual exam, which is more beneficial for candidates' listening improvement. Due to limitations in collecting listening materials, other English questions in the book do not include listening tapes. Candidates who need more listening practice can download additional free listening materials from Beijing Tianli Exam Information Network (readers can also discuss the book's content with relevant experts and teachers in the "Reader's Refueling Station" and obtain the latest middle school entrance examination information and questions for free). We believe this book will become a helpful companion for you as you prepare for the middle school entrance examination!
