Features: With the gradual advancement of curriculum reform, the book Selected National Middle School Entrance Examination Questions from New Curriculum Standard Experimental Areas, jointly compiled by Beijing Tianli Exam Information Network and the Examination Research Center of the National Learning Science Research Association, has accompanied the candidates of the 2005 and 2006 middle school entrance examinations in successfully entering key high schools in various provinces and cities. Thanks to its excellent sales performance and positive feedback from candidates across the country in 2005 and 2006, the book not only repeatedly ranked among the top of the best-selling educational supplement list of Open Book, but also left a strong impression on teachers and lower-grade students in schools. By the time the 2006 middle school entrance examination had not yet ended, many teachers and candidates about to enter the third grade had consulted via phone or email on how to purchase the 2007 edition more quickly. Faced with everyone's affection, all our writing and editing staff were even more cautious and did not relax. On the basis of carefully summarizing the experiences and lessons of the previous two editions, we analyzed and studied more than 100 sets of latest national middle school entrance examination questions, selecting 18 sets to compile into this book to help candidates prepare for exams more effectively and take them with ease. When using this book, please note:
1. Since the Ministry of Education's Basic Education Department issued the proposal for middle school entrance examination reform in 1998, marking the beginning of the reform, the guiding principles for exam question setting across the country have gradually been unified. Exam questions in various regions are formulated in accordance with the curriculum standards or teaching syllabi, reflecting the spirit of quality education. They emphasize connecting with social reality and students' lives, assessing students' knowledge and skills while focusing on their ability to apply learned knowledge to analyze and solve practical problems. All the questions selected in this book meet the above requirements, and candidates in all provinces and cities can use them with confidence.
2. The subjects, formats, question structures, and scoring systems of middle school entrance examinations in different regions vary. In terms of subjects, there is a trend of combining almost all content from physics, chemistry, biology, or politics, history, and geography into a single comprehensive exam paper. Some subjects, such as politics, history, and comprehensive exams, are increasingly adopting open-book or semi-open-book formats. To help candidates familiarize themselves with various exam formats, this book emphasizes the diversity of the selected questions.
3. This book is the economical edition of Tianli 38 Sets Selected National Middle School Entrance Examination Questions, with some overlap with the original Tianli 38 Sets. It is primarily intended for candidates who do not have the time or resources to do many practice questions or who face financial constraints. If candidates need more practice questions, they can choose the Tianli 38 Sets Selected National Middle School Entrance Examination Questions. Candidates in non-curriculum reform regions can choose the Tianli 38 Sets Selected National Middle School Entrance Examination Questions from Non-Experimental Areas. Of course, candidates can also refer to this book, as the new curriculum standard exams represent a new direction, and even non-experimental region exams will be influenced by them.
4. To better support candidates' review, we invited teachers responsible for question setting or grading from various regions to provide solutions and comments on the selected questions in the book, based on extensive feedback from teachers and candidates.
5. We have specially invited American experts to record listening tapes for the first nine English questions in this book. The speed of the recordings is slightly faster than the actual exam, which is more beneficial for candidates to improve their listening skills. Due to limitations in collecting listening materials, other English questions in the book do not come with listening tapes. If candidates need more listening practice, they can download other free listening materials from Beijing Tianli Exam Information Network (readers can also discuss the content of the book with relevant experts and experienced teachers in the Reader's Refueling Station and obtain the latest middle school entrance examination information and questions for free). We believe this book will become a helpful companion for you as you prepare for the middle school entrance examination!
