Features: Yogacara psychology holds that human suffering stems from six types of attachment: greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance, doubt, and heretical views. Once a person falls into these errors, they are prone to suffering, tension, and anxiety, leading to the degeneration, suppression, and collapse of their spiritual life, and even losing their sanity. This book synthesizes the fundamental principles of Yogacara theory and integrates psychological techniques, summarizing the key principles for developing healthy emotions into five themes: "Living Life Seriously," "Grasping the Way to Nourish the Mind," "Timely Healing and Pain Relief," "Alleviating Tension and Anxiety," and "Breaking Free from Depressive Emotions." It aims to discuss the liberation from suffering and pain, thereby cultivating a healthy emotional life and seeking the path to physical and mental well-being and happiness. Yogacara psychology explains suffering as attitudes and behaviors that hinder spiritual growth, and it refers to the emotions they trigger and their subsequent consequences as "suffering." In other words, suffering and mental functions are in an inverse relationship. Once trapped in suffering, a person loses their sanity and cannot live a bright, joyful, and happy life. This book synthesizes the principles of these suffering methods and integrates psychological techniques, summarizing the key principles for developing healthy emotions into five themes: "Living Life Seriously," "Grasping the Way to Nourish the Mind," "Timely Healing and Pain Relief," "Alleviating Tension and Anxiety," and "Breaking Free from Depressive Emotions." The book is divided into five parts, each discussing common emotional intelligence (EQ) and offering concise, practical methods for readers to refer to and apply. It is hoped that this book will bring EQ and good psychological adjustment skills to modern people, enabling them to unlock their potential, live well every day, and achieve a happy and successful life.
Sometimes, the symptoms of depression may not be very obvious, and as a result, medical treatment may be missed, leading to disruptions in brain neurochemistry and creating a vicious cycle of physical and mental decline, worsening the condition. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to early detection and seek treatment. Do not assume that things will naturally improve over a few days. If you or your loved ones exhibit the following behavioral changes, it may be a sign of depression, and it is time to take note:
· Suddenly becoming quiet and reserved, breaking away from past habits; at work, they may maintain conversations with others, but in daily life, they are very silent.
· Unstable emotions, overreacting to minor issues, sulking, feeling down and anxious; or being irritable and easily angered, frequently conflicting with others, which exacerbates their depressive mood.
· Someone who was once lively now avoids social contact; they prefer a quiet, reclusive life or a rigid, monotonous routine at home.
· Loss of interest in everything, neglecting self-care and appearance.
· Difficulty making decisions, hesitating and struggling to choose.
If a person exhibits these changes and they persist, it indicates a problem. If your family member or friend shows these changes, consider talking to them and accompanying them to see a doctor to help alleviate some psychological conflicts and stress. If it is you yourself, then you should face reality resolutely and seek medical help before the situation worsens.
If a person with depression suddenly becomes cheerful, meaning they break free from their previously gloomy mood and start to feel happy, it does not necessarily indicate improvement in their condition. Special attention should be paid: they may be feeling relieved after deciding to commit suicide, which manifests as a sense of relaxation. In such cases, it is even more important to be vigilant and provide assistance.
Depression may be caused by internal neurochemical changes, psychological factors, or a combination of both, but it is treatable. A special appeal is made here: some people believe that having depression is embarrassing and refuse to seek medical treatment, which can lead to severe consequences. P142
