Features: In the history of Chinese calligraphy, Wang Xizhi stands as a monumental figure, revered as the "Sage of Calligraphy." His masterpiece, the Preface to the Orchid Pavilion, has been celebrated as the "supreme calligraphic work under heaven" for millennia. On the other hand, couplets are one of the representatives of traditional Chinese culture, deeply loved by the masses. Collecting characters from the Preface to the Orchid Pavilion to form couplets not only holds artistic value in calligraphy but also provides exquisite literary enjoyment, truly a perfect fusion of two art forms: calligraphy and couplets. The Grand Collection of Preface to the Orchid Pavilion Couplets was compiled by Chen Fengtong, a member of the China Calligraphers Association, a member of the China Poetry Society, an honorary council member of the China Couplets Association, and the vice president of the Jiangsu Couplets Research Association. Through over two decades of effort, Mr. Chen collected and proofread more than 2,400 couplets composed from the Preface to the Orchid Pavilion by renowned calligraphers and couplet masters from the Ming, Qing, Republican, and contemporary eras. Additionally, the collection includes over 100 calligraphic works by dozens of modern and contemporary calligraphy giants such as He Shaoji, Weng Tonghe, Yu Youren, Qi Gong, and Sha Menghai, each showcasing unique styles. The appendix also contains relevant research materials on Preface to the Orchid Pavilion couplets.
